The threads on sheet metal screws are designed to pull two materials tightly together. When attaching metal to wood, it is especially important to pre-drill a hole. These sheet metal screws feature a tamper resistant one-way head and require a special tool to remove (alternatively a slot can be cut into the head that would allow removal with a flat head screw driver). Install using flat head screw driver or one-way screw slotted driver bit. When it's fixed, it's fixed. Once fitted, One-Way screws cannot be dismantled in the normal way. If dismantling is required in future, the One-Way screw is therefore not recommended. A standard screw driver is used for assembly.
